Tanzania’s renowned football team, Young Africans SC, has been handed a transfer ban for violating FIFA regulations, AfricaSoccer.com can confirm
This penalty comes after their unfortunate loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League quarter-final, where they were defeated in a nail-biting penalty shootout following a 180-minute goalless draw.
Young Africans have now been hit with a fresh blow as FIFA has banned them for irregularities in their player registration, a decision that has also been upheld by the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF).
As stated in a recent statement by the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF), “Young Africans club in the NBC Premier League has been prohibited from registering players for violating FIFA’s regulations.”
This punishment was imposed after the club was found to have breached Annexe 3 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP).
One of the key violations was their failure to enter confirmation of the player’s transfer payment in the Registration System (TMS), despite repeated reminders to do so.
As a result, the club has been instructed to fulfil all necessary requirements and provide information to the Secretariat of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, who will then take further action.
In light of this decision by FIFA, the TFF has also banned the club from registering any domestic players.
This serves as a major setback for Young Africans, as they will now have to navigate through their season without any new additions to their squad.
