Trabzonspor have made their first official move in pursuit of Cameroonian international Christopher Wooh, submitting an opening bid to French side Stade Rennais as negotiations begin over a potential summer transfer.
According to Turkish outlet Taka Gazete, the Süper Lig club has offered €4.5 million—including performance-related bonuses—for the 23-year-old centre-back.
While the proposal marks the first formal step from the Turkish side, it falls short of Rennes’ valuation.
The Ligue 1 club initially priced Wooh at €10 million but are now reportedly willing to consider offers around €7.5 million.
Talks between the two clubs remain active, with Trabzonspor expected to return with an improved offer in the coming days.
Wooh, whose current contract with Rennes runs until 30 June 2026, is one of several players the club may offload this summer to avoid losing them for free next year.
The Cameroon defender is also attracting interest from England, with Wolverhampton Wanderers said to be monitoring his situation closely.
The former Lens player has a market value of €6 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Wooh currently earns €240,000 annually, equivalent to approximately 156 million FCFA.
As the transfer window gathers pace, Trabzonspor’s pursuit of Wooh signals their intent to reinforce their backline.
Whether their next offer will meet Rennes’ revised expectations remains to be seen, but the Turkish side’s interest appears firm as they continue their talks to land the Cameroonian this summer.
