Paul Onuachu During Trabzonspor Pre-Season Training

Trabzonspor are preparing to make a key decision over the future of striker Paul Onuachu as growing interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey places the Nigerian international at the centre of the summer transfer window.

The Turkish side are expected to hold talks in the coming days to determine whether they will keep the experienced forward or consider selling him if their valuation is met.

While the club’s preference is to retain one of its leading attacking players, officials are willing to listen to offers they believe reflect his importance to the squad.

Onuachu enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, with his performances attracting attention from several clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli remain one of the clubs closely monitoring the 32-year-old and have maintained their interest over an extended period.

In Turkey, competition for his signature is also increasing, with both Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş reportedly keeping a close watch on developments.

Trabzonspor have already turned down two bids from Fenerbahçe after deciding the offers fell short of their asking price. Beşiktaş have yet to make a formal approach but continue to follow the striker’s situation.

The club’s management are now expected to meet before making a final decision on Onuachu’s future. Their preferred outcome is to keep the Nigerian forward, although they remain open to a transfer should a suitable proposal arrive.

Trabzonspor are reportedly seeking a transfer fee of €30 million before allowing the former Genk striker to leave. According to the available information, offers worth between €20 million and €25 million have already been rejected during the current transfer window.

Despite continued speculation surrounding his future, Onuachu has not pushed for a move away from the club. Instead, he has returned for pre-season training as preparations continue for the upcoming campaign.

The striker remains under contract with Trabzonspor until the summer of 2028, giving the club a strong position in any negotiations with interested teams. His current market valuation on Transfermarkt is estimated at €6 million.

With several clubs continuing to monitor the Nigerian international, Trabzonspor’s upcoming discussions are expected to play a significant role in determining whether Onuachu remains in Turkey for the new season or becomes one of the window’s notable transfer stories.
