Tottenham Hotspurs have joined the race for Nigeria international Ademola Lookman ahead of the summer transfer window.
Lookman is said to be considering his future following recent fallout with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The reigning African Footballer of the Year was heavily criticized by his coach after missing a penalty in Atalanta’s home defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League playoffs.
Despite Gasperini claiming his comment has no malicious intent, Lookman is said to be ready for Atalanta departure in the summer.
According to reports, Tottenham ready to make a bid for the player in an attempt to secure his services in the summer window.
The 22-year-old joined Atalanta in 2022 and has since established himself as a key cog to the team, racking up crucial goals including a hat-trick that won the Europa League title for the Italian club last season.
This season, Lookman has scored 15 goals and provided 7 assists in 28 matches across all competitions.
