After two matches without finding the net, Emmanuel Adebayor returned to scoring form on Sunday. The Togolese striker was the lone scorer for Tottenham in their crucial victory against Everton. Despite being in the spotlight, the former Gunner prefers to emphasize the collective effort.
“I am happy and delighted, not just for my goal but for the victory. It was important to win for the team,” Adebayor told the club’s official website.
Reflecting on his goal against Everton, Adebayor explained, “When we got the free-kick, I immediately called Walker and waved. He sent me a very good ball. I had to control the ball to put it in my path. The first touch was crucial, after which I had no choice but to strike the ball hard at the goalkeeper. And that’s what I did.”
Adebayor also expressed his desire to end his career in the Ghanaian championship.
