Emmanuel Adebayor will once again be absent from the Tottenham squad for their upcoming match against West Ham in the Premier League. Despite Spurs’ victory against Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League, the Togolese striker has not yet made an appearance in the official matches this season.
Tottenham’s coach, André Villas-Boas, stated that Adebayor had recently joined the first team after being made available to the reserve team at the start of the season. While he was not part of the squad for the Anzhi match, Adebayor will also miss the game against West Ham. Villas-Boas expressed hope that during the upcoming international break, they would focus on Adebayor’s fitness to prepare him for future contributions to the team.
Adebayor had a challenging pre-season, dealing with the loss of his brother while on tour with Spurs in Asia. This unfortunate incident led to him missing significant parts of the team’s preparation. Despite being made available to the reserve team and facing the possibility of leaving the club, Adebayor stayed with Tottenham, expressing his desire to continue playing for the team.
