Torino make move for Senegalese goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf amid Lens interest

Torino have entered discussions with Stade de Reims over a potential transfer for Senegalese international goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf, raising fresh uncertainty around the player’s future and putting RC Lens on alert.

Diouf, who has drawn attention for his athleticism and reflexes, became a target for RC Lens earlier this summer. Initial reports suggested the French side was the front-runner for his signature.

However, Torino’s emergence as an active bidder has shifted the dynamics considerably. With the Serie A club seeking a replacement for departing goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić, attention has turned to the 22-year-old Reims shot-stopper.

Discussions between Torino and Reims have reportedly advanced to a promising stage. The Italian club aims to secure Diouf as a key part of their plans for the 2025–26 season.

If successful, the move would see Diouf step into the role vacated by Milinković-Savić, who is expected to depart following a strong season with Torino.

The impetus behind Torino’s interest lies partly in financial prudence. Milinković-Savić is anticipated to leave in a deal worth around €20 million, and Torino are seeking a cost-effective successor.

Reims’ valuation of Diouf is estimated at approximately €10 million—significantly lower than their outgoing No 1’s fee and offering tactical and economic advantages.

Meanwhile, Diouf’s growing reputation is attracting attention outside Italy. Top European sides, including Premier League clubs, have reportedly monitored his progress.

Meanwhile, AS Monaco and Napoli have shown particular interest. These clubs could rival Torino if Diouf’s transfer becomes a contested affair.

Torino’s strategy appears clear. They are initiating dialogue to secure an agreement with Reims before other major offers materialise. Should they complete the deal, Diouf would head to Italy under favourable financial conditions.

Diouf, on the other hand, would move into a more prominent league environment, facing stronger opposition and enhancing his international prospects.

Reims, meanwhile, must consider the timing and value of a sale. With Diouf under contract and performing consistently, the club may weigh the benefits of reinvesting the fee in their squad against the risk of losing a promising young talent to a rival.

For RC Lens, the contention introduces uncertainty. Although they have been early frontrunners, Torino’s swift negotiations may compel Lens to reassess their position and possibly improve their offer.

Diouf’s eventual destination may hinge on which party presents the most attractive package professionally and financially.

On a sporting level, Diouf’s move would mark a significant shift. He has established himself as a reliable presence in Ligue 1 and has earned senior caps for Senegal.

Career progression into Serie A would expose him to a highly tactical and disciplined environment—one that could benefit his development as one of Africa’s emerging goalkeepers.

Should the deal with Torino proceed, the Serie A side would benefit from securing a young, ambitious goalkeeper capable of growing within their system.

Meanwhile, Diouf would gain valuable exposure in a league known for nurturing top-class shot-stoppers.

As negotiations unfold over the coming weeks, all eyes will be on whether Torino’s drawings are enough to tempt Diouf away from French suitors.

For now, the 22-year-old remains a hot commodity—with multiple clubs lining up to secure his services in the coming summer transfer window.
