Mesmin Ategoua, a player and president of the Le Phenix club, is vying for the position of president in the Togolese Volleyball Federation. Currently serving as the 2nd vice-president of the federation since his election in 2007, Ategoua has been active in both playing and administrative roles.
In his capacity as the head of the analytical accounting department at Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital, Ategoua has been instrumental in organizing tours for his club across the country. This initiative has garnered support from various club presidents who see in him the potential to extend such efforts to the national team.
Ategoua’s decision to run for the presidency is rooted in the encouragement he received from club presidents who recognize his commitment and leadership qualities. If elected, he would become the youngest president of the Togolese Volleyball Federation at 41 years old.
His candidacy reflects a desire to bring fresh perspectives and proactive leadership to the federation, with a focus on expanding the sport’s reach and improving its organizational aspects at both the club and national levels. The upcoming congress will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to decide on the future direction of volleyball in Togo.
