Togo’s national A’ team is set to take on Ghana in a friendly match next week as part of its preparations for the final stretch of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 qualifiers.
The encounter, scheduled for Wednesday, December 11, 2024, will be held at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, with kick-off at 4:00 p.m. GMT.
The match is open to the public, with free entry for all attendees. This fixture is an important part of Togo’s build-up to the crucial qualifiers, where they aim to secure a place in next year’s CHAN competition.
Under the guidance of coach Coubadja Kader, the Togolese team has been in training since November 25, 2024, as they prepare for the upcoming double-header against Niger later this month.
These games are vital for Togo’s qualification hopes, as they seek to advance to the final tournament.
The first leg against Niger is scheduled for Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, while the return match will take place five days later, on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the 26 Mars Stadium in Bamako, Mali.
The CHAN 2025 tournament, which will feature only locally-based players, will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, beginning in February 2025.
This friendly against Ghana will provide Togo with a valuable opportunity to assess their readiness for the crucial qualifiers and fine-tune their squad before the decisive games against Niger.
The match will also offer a chance for players to gain match fitness and confidence ahead of the upcoming competitive fixtures.
