During a meeting between the Prime Minister of Togo and the Togolese Football Federation, several key points were discussed, including the establishment of the Cadets selection to participate in the President Cup tournament, scheduled to coincide with Togo’s Independence Day celebrations.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of preparing the national selection adequately for this competition, which is organized by the UFOA-B. This decision will enable the recently appointed technical staff, led by Coach Kegbalo Kodjovi, to properly equip themselves for the task ahead.
Coach Kodjovi expressed the challenges faced in preparing for the tournament, highlighting the need for support and resources to facilitate their work.
The President Cup tournament, in its inaugural edition, will feature six countries divided into two groups. Togo, as the host nation, will compete against Benin and Ivory Coast in Group A, while Group B consists of Nigeria, Niger, and Mali. Matches are scheduled to commence on April 19, with the final set for April 27.
The tournament promises to be an exciting showcase of young talent from across the region, with matches to be held at the Kégué and municipal stadiums.
