The government of Togo has established a technical commission tasked with appointing a new coach for the Togo Hawks football team. This commission, consisting of 11 members, commenced its work on Tuesday at the Ministry of Sports headquarters.
Comprising representatives from various sectors including sports, football administration, civil service, and finance, the commission will work over a two-day period to select the most suitable candidate to succeed Didier Six as the team’s coach.
Ameyi Gabriel, the president of the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) and a member of the commission, emphasized the importance of choosing a coach capable of achieving better results than in the previous African Cup of Nations (CAN) tournament. He expressed determination to ensure that the new coach leads the team to improved performance, building upon their quarter-final achievement in the last edition of the tournament.
The commission’s deliberations will take place in Notsè over April 16 and 17, during which a shortlist of five potential candidates will be identified for the final selection of the Togo Hawks coach.
