In celebration of International Press Freedom Day on May 3, Togolese media professionals organized a football gala in Lomé on Saturday, May 4, 2013. The event was initiated by the Union of Independent Journalists of Togo (SYNJIT), the African Network of Journalists on Human Security and Peace (RAJOSEP), in collaboration with the Association of Sports Journalists of Togo (AJST) and DBD&Partners. The football gala featured four teams representing journalists from the written press, radio, television, and correspondents from the foreign press, online press, bloggers, and freelancers. The event aimed to foster camaraderie among media professionals and celebrate press freedom. Additionally, an evening event called “T des Médias” took place, featuring presenters, hosts, reporters, and technicians in a fashion show. The evening concluded with a celebration in a club in the capital.
