Tiémoué Bakayoko Joins AS Monaco on Loan
Tiémoué Bakayoko, soon to turn 20 on August 17, has joined AS Monaco on loan. The French-Ivorian defensive midfielder, born in Paris, developed through France’s youth national teams from U16 to U20 and made his Ligue 1 debut with Stade Rennais in 2013. Last season, he played 28 matches and scored once for Rennes.
Standing 1.84 meters tall, Bakayoko represents a promising talent in Monaco’s strategy to attract young, high-potential French players. Vice-president Vadim Vasilyev said, “We are pleased to attract talented young French players like Tiémoué Bakayoko. He fits perfectly with our development and future-focused strategy.”
Bakayoko expressed his pride in joining Monaco, calling it “a first step in my career” and thanking the club’s management for their trust.
