The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has confirmed that the postponed Throne Cup Round of 16 clash between AS FAR and Renaissance Berrechid will take place on Wednesday, May 21, at Kenitra Stadium.
The fixture was initially delayed due to AS FAR’s involvement in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, where they were narrowly eliminated by Egypt’s Pyramids FC with a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.
Meanwhile, the Federation’s programming committee is expected to announce the rescheduled date for the remaining Round of 16 fixture between Renaissance Berkane and Kawkab Marrakech, which will complete the quarter-final lineup.
The winner of the Throne Cup will join RS Berkane and AS FAR in next season’s CAF Champions League, while Wydad Casablanca has already secured a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Throne Cup champion will become Morocco’s fourth representative in continental competitions.
