Three RS Berkane players earn spots in Morocco’s preliminary squad for March friendlies

Three players from RS Berkane have been reportedly included in the preliminary squad for the Morocco national football team ahead of the March international friendly matches.

The expanded list features defenders Abdelhak Assal and Ismail Kandoussi, along with winger Mounir Chouiar. The trio have earned recognition after delivering strong performances for Berkane throughout the current campaign.

Their inclusion comes as part of Morocco’s ongoing preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The national team is expected to play two friendly matches in March as part of its build-up toward the global competition.

The Atlas Lions will first face Ecuador national football team on March 27, 2026, at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid, with kickoff scheduled for 9:15 pm. They will then take on Paraguay national football team on March 31 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens, starting at 8 pm.

The final squad for the national team could still undergo adjustments, as the coaching staff aims to evaluate as many players as possible ahead of the upcoming World Cup scheduled to take place across the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer.
