Reports from German media have revealed that Bayern Munich’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, will rely on Moroccan international Achraf Mazraoui as a left-back in the match against Bayer Leverkusen in the 21st round of the Bundesliga.
According to the German newspaper “Bild,” Bayern Munich’s training session on Wednesday saw Tuchel depending on Mazraoui as a left-back, instructing him to play in that position and follow his directives to feature against Bayer Leverkusen.
The same source clarified that the Moroccan international is expected to play as a left-back, a position he also occupies with the Moroccan national team, due to the presence of Achraf Hakimi on the right side.
Bayern Munich had previously signed French international Sasha Booye during the last winter transfer window from Galatasaray in Turkey.
Mazraoui participated in the Moroccan national team’s last match in the Africa Cup of Nations against South Africa in the round of 16, a stage from which “The Atlas Lions” were eliminated after a 2-0 loss.
Mazraoui was absent from the group stage of the AFCON due to his incomplete recovery from an injury that kept him away from Bayern Munich for several months.
