Thiemoko Diarra set for move to Turkey as Trabzonspor close in on Malian talent

Malian winger Thiemoko Diarra is reportedly on the verge of completing a transfer to Turkish club Trabzonspor following an impressive season on loan at Hapoel Haifa.

The 19-year-old has caught the attention of the Süper Lig side with a string of standout performances in the Israeli Premier League, where he recorded six goals and four assists in 32 appearances.

His pace, technical ability, and maturity on the field have positioned him as a promising addition to Trabzonspor’s attacking options.

While personal terms between Diarra and the Turkish club are believed to be close to agreement, the finalisation of the deal hinges on approval from Stade de Reims, who retain the player’s registration rights.

Diarra has been under contract with the French club, which sanctioned his loan to Hapoel Haifa for the 2023–24 season.

Talks between all parties are said to be at an advanced stage, with Trabzonspor eager to secure the deal before the competition for Diarra’s signature intensifies.

The Turkish club views the young winger as a long-term asset capable of making an immediate impact and offering further growth in the seasons ahead.

Diarra’s rapid rise has not gone unnoticed. Despite his youth, he has shown composure beyond his years, consistently delivering high-level performances throughout the campaign. His ability to stretch defences, beat markers in one-on-one situations, and contribute decisively in the final third has made him a standout figure in Haifa’s squad.

The interest from Trabzonspor comes as the club looks to revamp its attacking unit ahead of the new season. Diarra’s profile aligns well with their vision for a more dynamic and youthful frontline.

Should the transfer be completed, he would join a league that has grown increasingly competitive and has served as a platform for many emerging talents across Africa and Europe.

Stade de Reims, meanwhile, must now decide whether to cash in on the Malian prospect or explore the possibility of reintegrating him into their own squad.

However, with Diarra’s desire for regular first-team football and the advanced nature of discussions with Trabzonspor, a permanent move to Turkey appears increasingly likely.

For Diarra, the potential switch to Trabzonspor marks a significant step in his professional journey. A successful transition to the Süper Lig could serve as a springboard to broader recognition on the European stage, while also providing him with the competitive environment needed to refine his already impressive skill set.

An official announcement could follow soon, pending final approvals. If confirmed, Diarra’s arrival would be seen as a major statement of intent from Trabzonspor, who appear committed to investing in young, high-potential players as they build towards a stronger domestic and continental campaign.

Supporters of the Turkish club will now await confirmation with anticipation, as one of Africa’s most exciting teenage talents prepares for what could be the next defining chapter of his career.
