There’s no better club for Lamine Yamal than Barcelona – Deco

FC Barcelona Sporting Director, Deco, has claimed that there is no better club in the world for star attacker Lamine Yamal than the Catalans.

The La Liga champions have been a joy to watch in the 2024/25 football season.

In their league-winning campaign, Lamine Yamal has been a sensation with his performances, starring in several matches to lead the team to victory.

Heading into the off-season, the Spanish attacker with Moroccan descent is reportedly pushing to become the highest-paid player at FC Barcelona through his agents.

Reacting to this, Deco has stated that it does not matter whether Lamine Yamal is made the highest-paid player at the club or not.

He insists that what matters is the happiness of the player. Speaking to RAC1, Deco said he believes a pay rise is in order, adding that Barcelona is the best club for the teenage sensation.

“The extension with Lamine is going well. He deserves the pay rise. A player at this level has to be happy. For me, it doesn’t matter whether he’s 17 or 26 – football has to be fair. He should get the contract he deserves,” he told RAC1.

Deco added, Deco added: “It’s not about being the highest paid. What matters is that he’s happy. And I think there’s no better club for him than Barça.”
