There is no clear reason for my departure from Zamalek – Jose Peseiro
Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro has revealed that he does not know why Egyptian club Zamalek decided to part ways with him.
The Egyptian club confirmed parting ways with the experienced tactician on May 7 on the back of unimpressive results.
Speaking to ON Sport 1 in an interview, Coach Jose Peseiro said there is no clear reason for his sacking, although he admits the team wasn’t in a good shape at the time he was leaving.
“My departure from Zamalek wasn’t for technical reasons. I suddenly found myself out of the team. I wasn’t surprised by my departure in this way. The Zamalek team wasn’t in good shape, and Egyptian football is influenced by the fans, and perhaps that’s the reason I left coaching Zamalek, but I was very happy to coach a team as prestigious as Zamalek.
“I don’t know the reason for my departure from Zamalek. There is no clear reason for that. We had a lot of work ahead of us, and we still had a chance in the league, but as I said, football in Egypt is affected by the fans. The Egyptian people are overly emotional,” Coach Jose Peseiro said.
Meanwhile, the coach has wished Zamalek the best in their future endeavours.
