German defender of Ivorian descent, Jonathan Tah is confident Bayer Leverkusen can successfully defend the German Bundesliga title at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
The captain of Leverkusen played a key role for the side during last season’s history Bundesliga triumph.
On Sunday, he helped Bayer Leverkusen secure a hard-fought 4-3 win against Stuttgart in Round 26 of the league campaign.
The win has seen the team closing the gap on league leaders Bayern Munich with just six points now separating the two teams.
Speaking in a post-match interview after the win against Stuttgart, Jonathan Tah insisted that the race for the Bundesliga title is not over.
“The air is not out. We didn’t start well, but we didn’t give up and somehow believed in it. Maybe sometimes you need exactly these kinds of victories to show that the spirit is still there,” Tah said in an interview with DAZN.
Although Bayer Leverkusen are still in the race for the league title, Bayern Munich holds the advantage at the summit.
