Newell’s Old Boys paid tribute to David Trezeguet by presenting him with a special gift to commemorate his achievement of scoring 300 goals in his professional career. The Argentine club, through his Brazilian equipment supplier, gifted him two pairs of shoes named “Trezientos” – one in white and the other in black – a clever play on words celebrating his name and the milestone.
The insole of the shoes is adorned with the names of the teams Trezeguet played for, along with the tally of goals he scored throughout his illustrious career. At 36 years old, the former French international’s goal-scoring record is as follows: 34 goals with the French national team, 62 with Monaco, 171 with Juventus Turin, 12 in La Liga with Hercules in Alicante, and 18 at River Plate. Additionally, he scored the first three goals of the current season with Newell’s Old Boys, the club he joined in July. This thoughtful and personalized gift serves as a fitting tribute to Trezeguet’s remarkable career and contributions to the world of football.
