Olympique Lyonnais striker Malick Fofana is at the center of growing speculation about a potential move to the English Premier League.
The 19-year-old forward, who has Guinean roots, is attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs after an impressive season. So far, he has registered 10 goals and 5 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
Fofana’s representatives, BF SportsPartner, have openly discussed his future, naming Liverpool and Newcastle United as possible destinations.

Speaking to Africa Foot, a spokesperson from the agency expressed a preference for Liverpool, highlighting the club’s strong track record of developing African talent.
However, they also acknowledged Newcastle United as a serious option, praising the club’s structure and long-term vision.
“The choice of heart would be Liverpool. He has the potential to enter the rotation, and above all, we would like to see him succeed African legends such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and El-Hadji Diouf.
“(But) now, the choice of reason would be Newcastle, a well-structured club that could be a first step to gain experience before, perhaps, joining a top-five European club.
“He has the profile to succeed in the Premier League. He possesses qualities similar to those of Manchester United’s Amad Diallo, namely speed, impact, and the ability to create opportunities.
“There’s no doubt he can shine. For him, this would be an opportunity to continue his development and, above all, to showcase his talent in a league that favours transitional play.
“However, he’ll have to choose the right club, as competition is fierce across the (English) Channel.”
While no official bids have been reported, the interest from Premier League clubs underscores Fofana’s rising stock in European football.
