Victor Osimhen’s future at Napoli has once again come under scrutiny, with Italian media reporting a growing rift between the Nigerian striker and the Serie A club over stalled transfer negotiations.
After a sensational loan spell at Galatasaray — where he netted 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 competitive matches — the 26-year-old has attracted interest from Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia.
However, the relationship between the Nigerian striker and Napoli appears to be fraying, particularly after the club turned down a €70 million bid from Saudi outfit Al Hilal.
Napoli is reportedly holding firm on their €74 million release clause, a stance that has further complicated the situation.
Sources suggest that Osimhen is willing to accept a lower salary to remain with Galatasaray, especially if the Turkish champions secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
While Galatasaray is said to have offered the striker a lucrative €21 million annual salary, their overall bid still falls short of Napoli’s asking price — believed to be around €75 million.
The ongoing standoff signals the possibility of another turbulent summer for both player and club, with Osimhen prioritising sporting ambition and stability, while Napoli focuses on maximising the financial return from any potential deal.
Despite initially leading the race for the striker’s signature, Al Hilal has reportedly withdrawn from negotiations, casting further uncertainty over Osimhen’s next move.
