Tensions rise between Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe’s relationship with Real Madrid is reportedly becoming more strained, with both sides said to be increasingly frustrated with each other.

The France forward returned to Madrid on Monday after a short holiday period following his knee injury. His time away, however, became a public issue after Spanish media followed him during nights out in Paris, drawing criticism from some Madrid supporters.

According to journalist Jorge Picon, Mbappe believes the club’s project is not serious enough and has also complained about the level of several former teammates. Real Madrid, meanwhile, reportedly feel he is less collaborative than expected.

OK Diario claims the club is tired of repeatedly defending the 27-year-old, citing his handling of injuries, attitude towards referees and decisions that have placed Madrid in uncomfortable positions. Some figures inside the club are said to view his behaviour as too individualistic.

The timing is difficult for Madrid, who face a demanding run of matches every three days and sit six points behind Barcelona ahead of the Clasico on October 25. Mbappe is expected to return to training and could be available against Villarreal this weekend
