Kaizer legend Thembinkosi Biyela has raised concerns about the acquisition of forward SuperSport United forward Tashreeq Morris.
The 31-year-old joined the Soweto club during the January transfer window, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Morris racked up just two goals in 19 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs since joining the club in January 2025.
Biyela highlighted both Morris’s lack of goalscoring prowess and Kaizer Chiefs’ ineffective use of the striker, suggesting he’s simply not the right fit for Nasreddine Nabi’s system.
“He constantly fails to hit the target. His signing was a mistake—it shouldn’t have happened. His track record isn’t impressive, and he was signed mostly because of the goal he scored for SuperSport United against the Chiefs in the first half of the season.
I also think they’re not playing Morris to his strengths. He’s a determined player, but Kaizer Chiefs expect him to perform as a mobile forward. The team isn’t delivering enough balls into the box, which doesn’t suit his style. That’s why he’s struggling,” Biyela stated.
