The first football team of Al Ittihad Alexandria Club is set to resume its daily training sessions at the club’s grounds in Smouha, following a 24-hour rest period granted by coach Tarek El-Ashry after their 1-0 defeat against Ceramica Cleopatra in the League Cup quarterfinals.
Speaking to “Al-Masry Al-Youm,” El-Ashry stated, “We have closed the chapter of the League Cup and we must prepare well to return strongly to the Egyptian Premier League matches. Our first match will be against Tala’ea Al-Gaish, scheduled for November 14th at the Alexandria Stadium.”
El-Ashry refused to impose financial penalties on the players, affirming that they played the match seriously against a tough opponent boasting a group of high-caliber players.
He urged the medical staff to provide a report detailing the injured players’ status and the possibility of their involvement in the upcoming matches.
It is expected that the team’s top scorer, Angolan Christopher Maboulou, defender Karim El-Deeb, and Benjamin Boateng will return to the starting lineup, along with newcomer Sherif Reda, who was signed from Samouha during the winter reinforcements.
The Egyptian Premier League, known for its unpredictability and fierce competition, presents a fresh challenge for Al Ittihad Alexandria as they seek to bounce back from their League Cup disappointment and make their mark in the league standings.
With coach El-Ashry’s experience and the team’s determination, they aim to deliver strong performances and secure positive results in the upcoming fixtures.
