Tanguy Ndombele’s ongoing battle with injuries is casting a shadow over his stint at OGC Nice, as the French midfielder remains sidelined and far from peak condition.
The 28-year-old has been grappling with a nagging problem that’s ruled him out of Nice’s last three Ligue 1 matchday squads. His most recent league start was back on January 17, and there’s little sign of a quick comeback.
Nice manager Franck Haise recently shared an update, noting that Ndombele is still limited to light training and nowhere near his early-season form.
“He’s far from the level that he was at the start of the season,” Haise said, pointing out the midfielder’s session with physios on Friday.
The manager stressed that rebuilding match rhythm is a slow process. Ndombele’s injury troubles are nothing new they have hurt him throughout his career and his latest setback is a growing worry for Nice, who are pushing for a strong finish.
The ex-Tottenham man joined the club on a two-year deal last July, but fitness remains his biggest hurdle.
