Al Ahly winger Taher Mohamed believes his side has a better shot at success than Inter Miami in the upcoming 2025 Club World Cup opener in the United States.
Confident in his form, Taher linked last season’s strong performances to consistency in training and recovery, not drastic changes in routine.
He credited full fitness and sharp focus for his goal-scoring and assists, adding that competition from top talents like Ahmed Mostafa Zizo and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet will only push him further. Taher also expressed surprise at the arrival of Zizo, Emam Ashour, and Ashraf bin Sharqi from rivals Zamalek, calling it a sign of modern professionalism in football.
“Zizo is no stranger. We’ve played together for Egypt and know each other well,” he said, predicting a quick adaptation for his new teammate.
Taher shared a personal note about his father’s illness, which his family kept from him to protect his concentration during key league matches. He praised Al-Ahly’s league title win as a result of player focus and rivals’ pressure struggles.
