Al-Ahly’s dynamic winger Taher Mohamed is back in the fold, rejoining group training as the team gears up for a crucial clash against Sudan’s Al Hilal on April 1st in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals’ first leg.
After a challenging 101-day layoff, his return brings a fresh spark to the squad.
According to Kooora, a source inside Al Ahly stated that Taher first suffered a partial tear below the anterior muscle on the outside, followed by another tear in the same area.
“The compound injury caused him to be absent for a long time, which lasted for about 101 days, specifically since the match against Mexico’s Pachuca on December 14th in the Intercontinental Cup semi-final,” the source revealed.
“Taher gradually participated yesterday evening and will continue at the same pace, increasing the duration daily. He will then undergo new x-rays before being given the green light to fully participate in group training,” the source added.
With new scans pending, the source confirmed Taher should be match-ready for the showdown at Cairo Stadium. Fans are buzzing to see him back, hungry for victories.
