Giovanni Sio, the Basel player, has been handed a three-match suspension in the Swiss first division championship, as decided by the disciplinary commission of the Swiss League. The disciplinary action stems from Sio’s premature return to the locker room due to unsporting behavior against FC Lausanne-Sport.
The official statement on the Swiss commission’s website reads, “Returned prematurely to the locker room for unsporting behavior against FC Lausanne-Sport, Giovanni Sio is sanctioned with three parts of suspension.”
Despite his recent arrival this summer, the former Sochaux player has made a notable impact, scoring three goals in five matches. However, this suspension will see him sidelined for the next three games in the Swiss first division.
