Alexander Isak continued his fine form by scoring once again in Newcastle United’s dominant 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town, a result that lifted the Magpies back into the top four of the Premier League.

The Swedish international of Eritrean roots, who has been a standout for Eddie Howe’s side this season, helped Newcastle reclaim their spot among the Champions League qualification spots, climbing to third in the table.

Despite a nervy start, with Ipswich almost taking the lead early through Jack Clarke’s curling shot, Newcastle quickly found their rhythm.

The game took a decisive turn when Ipswich were reduced to 10 men following a second yellow card for Ben Johnson.

With the pressure mounting on Ipswich, Newcastle capitalized on their dominance.

In first-half stoppage time, a penalty was awarded when Julio Enciso fouled Jacob Murphy in the box, and Isak confidently converted the spot-kick to give Newcastle a deserved lead.

The Magpies doubled their advantage just 11 minutes into the second half, with Dan Burn scoring his first Premier League goal of the season after being set up by Kieran Trippier.

Substitute William Osula sealed the victory late on, heading in Trippier’s corner to make it 3-0.

After a disappointing loss to Aston Villa the previous week, this emphatic win secured Newcastle’s fifth consecutive home victory, reasserting their push for Champions League football.

For Ipswich, the loss confirmed their relegation from the Premier League, marking another difficult season for the promoted club.
