Sweden international of Eritrean descent Alexander Isak has been spotted training alone in Spain as he faces an uncertain future at Newcastle United.
Isak, considered as one of the most sought-after attackers in the current transfer window missed the Magpies trip to Singapore, with the club citing minor thigh injury for his exclusion from the tour.
The 25-year-old attacker has sparked concerns after being spotted embarking on individual training in the Basque Country, where he made over 100 appearances for Real Sociedad between 2019 and 2022.
It remains unclear whether Newcastle United are aware of their striker’s return to his former club to continue his rehabilitation program, raising questions about his future.
Isak remains a top target for Liverpool, who have been linked with a huge bid of up to £150 million this summer. Reds manager Arne Slot is believed to see the Swedish star as the ideal attacking option to bolster the Premier League champions.
Saudi Arabian clubs have also expressed interest in signing him, but the player, who has scored 54 Premier League goals since joining Newcastle in 2022, prefers to continue in Europe.
