Swedish forward of Eritrean descent Alexander Isak will not be part of the Newcastle United squad that will play against Arsenal in the English Premier League this weekend.
The round 37 fixture in the English top-flight league will be played on Sunday, May 18.
Alexander Isak’s absence is a significant blow for the Magpies, who are locked in a tight battle with the Gunners near the top of the table.
Arsenal currently sit second with 68 points, just two ahead of Newcastle in third on 66.
Isak, 25, has been instrumental for Newcastle this season, netting 27 goals and registering 6 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe faces a headache ahead of the Arsenal game and will hope his team fares well without their leading marksman.
Arsenal’s clash against Newcastle United will kick off at 3:30 pm at Emirates Stadium.
