The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially unveiled Kim Lars Bjorkegren as the new head coach of the Black Queens.
The Swedish tactician who has signed a two-year deal replaces Nora Häuptle, who has joined Zambia’s Copper Queens after failing to extend her contract with the GFA.
Speaking at his unveiling, the 43-year-old trainer expressed his confidence in succeeding as the head coach of the Black Queens.
“The most important aspect of my job is to visit all the players, watch games, and help them improve,” Bjorkegren said.
“Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but I think the most important thing for me, the staff, and the players is to work hard every single day to ensure that we will be successful sooner or later.
“I can see so much talent in this country, so I am really sure that, in the short term, we have the potential to be successful. In the long term, I can always guarantee that we will be successful.”
Bjorkegren’s debut on the dugout will be the upcoming friendly against Morocco on February 21 ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for July.
The Black Queens have been paired with South Africa, Mali and Tanzania in Group C.
