WILFRIED BONY SET TO EXTEND SWANSEA STAY UNTIL 2018
Wilfried Bony is ready to commit his future to Swansea City. The Ivorian striker confirmed that negotiations for a contract extension are progressing well, with the new deal expected to run until June 2018.
“The negotiations are going very well. Hopefully it will be done this week,” Bony told the club’s official website. “I have a good relationship with my teammates, the staff, and the fans. It’s a fantastic club and I’m happy to be here. I’m focused on Swansea, and a one-year extension would be perfect for me.”
Bony has already scored four goals in 12 appearances across all competitions this season. After netting 26 goals in his debut campaign, the former Vitesse Arnhem forward is determined to raise the bar once more in the Premier League.
The news comes as a boost for Swansea, who will be eager to keep hold of their star striker amid growing interest from bigger clubs across Europe.
