Super Falcons forward Monday Gift has been crowned the Liga F Player of the Month for February following her outstanding performances with UDG Tenerife.
The 23-year-old Nigerian forward netted two goals in three league outings during the month, finding the back of the net against Sevilla and Valencia to play a pivotal role in her team’s attacking display.
Gift’s international compatriot Rinsola Babajide also made notable contributions, scoring in both matches alongside her.
The Nigerian striker outperformed Real Madrid’s Alba Redondo, Barcelona’s Caroline Hansen, Deportivo La Coruna’s Ainhoa Marin, Athletic Club’s Ane Azkona, Granada’s Ari Mingueza, and Eibar’s Elba Verges to clinch the prestigious accolade.
Gift has been in fine form this season, amassing 10 goals in 18 league appearances for Tenerife.
The recognition follows in the footsteps of Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade, who won the inaugural award, while Nigerian forward Edna Imade also claimed the honour earlier in the season.
The award highlights Gift’s growing influence in Spain’s top-flight women’s league as she continues to impress with her consistent performances.
