Six Super Eagles players have arrived in Kigali as Nigeria begins preparations for a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
The players, including Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen, defender Bruno Onyemaechi, and goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, checked into the team’s base at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Sunday.
They were later joined by Papa Daniel Mustapha, Amas Obasogie, and Tolu Arokodare.
Head coach Eric Chelle and his backroom staff also touched down in the Rwandan capital on Sunday evening as the squad builds up for the must-win encounter.
The Super Eagles will take on the Amavubi at Amahoro Stadium on Friday in their Matchday 5 fixture before returning to Nigeria to host Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo four days later.
With more players expected to report to camp in the coming days, Nigeria’s preparations are set to intensify as they aim to secure maximum points in the double-header and strengthen their position in the race for a place at the 2026 World Cup.
