Nigeria’s Super Eagles have secured two specially chartered flights for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda’s Amavubi, ensuring smooth travel logistics for both players and supporters.
According to reports from ScoreNigeria, a primary flight carrying 150 passengers will depart from Lagos, while a second, smaller aircraft will leave from Abuja.
Both flights are scheduled to take off on the same day, allowing the team and key personnel to arrive in Rwanda together ahead of the crucial fixture.
Supporters Included in Travel Plans
The larger aircraft from Lagos will accommodate at least 90 Nigerian supporters, providing them the opportunity to witness the match live.
Immediately after the game, the same flight will return to Uyo, ensuring that fans and officials can travel back without delays.
Meanwhile, the smaller aircraft will remain in Rwanda until Saturday. Due to restrictions preventing night landings at the designated airport, this plane will transport the Super Eagles squad and coaching staff back to Uyo the following day.
Logistics and Cost Considerations
Officials have estimated that the cost of chartering the flights to Rwanda could reach up to 200 million naira, highlighting the logistical effort behind the national team’s travel arrangements.
With the Super Eagles aiming to secure a vital win on the road, meticulous planning has been put in place to ensure the team’s comfort and readiness for the high-stakes qualifier.
