The African Football Confederation’s Referee Committee has confirmed the appointment of Sudanese referee Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Ismail to officiate the match between the Moroccan national team and South Africa.
This encounter marks one of the Round of 16 fixtures in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast 2023.
Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Ismail will be assisted by Cameroonian Elvis Jay Nobui Ngoungou as the first assistant and Sudanese Mohamed Abdullah Ibrahim as the second assistant.
The role of the fourth official has been assigned to Rwandan Samuel Owkonda.
The Moroccan national team concluded the group stage, scoring a total of 5 goals.
These were distributed among a hat-trick against Tanzania, and individual goals against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.
The scorers were Ghanem Saiss, Azzedine Ounahi, Youssef En-Nesyri, Achraf Hakimi, and Hakim Ziyech.
The Moroccan team is set to face their South African counterparts on the upcoming Tuesday, January 30, at 9:00 PM local time.
