The anticipated transfer of Ahmed Hossam, a key player from the first football team of Al Gouna Club, to Zamalek faced complications despite the player’s close proximity to donning the white jersey after an agreement between the two clubs.
In the final hours, the clubs reached an accord for the player’s move to Zamalek on a six-month loan deal for 3 million Egyptian pounds, with an option to buy at the end of the season if the player performs well.
However, sources from “Al-Masry Al-Youm” revealed that the stumbling blocks between Zamalek and Al Gouna are twofold. Firstly, Al Gouna desires a resale percentage in the player’s contract, considering him a promising element in the Olympic national team.
This demand was rejected by Zamalek.
Secondly, the amount Zamalek would pay upon activating the player’s purchase clause was deemed excessive by Zamalek officials, who requested a reduction.
However, no resolution has been reached between the two clubs on this matter.
It remains possible for matters to be resolved between Zamalek and Al Gouna in the upcoming hours, given that the registration window closes next Tuesday.
Ahmed Salem, the spokesperson for Zamalek’s board of directors, recently denied the circulating rumors about Zamalek signing Ahmed Hossam, the defender from Al Gouna, during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Ahmed Salem clarified on his Facebook page, stating, “There is no truth to the rumors about the signing of Ahmed Hossam, the defender from Al Gouna.”
This statement sheds light on the stumbling blocks that the deal faced in the past hours and the fact that it has not concluded yet.
