South Africa outfit Cape Town City have mutually parted ways with head coach Muhsin Ertugral after a string of unimpressive results in the top-flight.
Cape Town City were handed their 12th defeat in the South African top-flight at the weekend after succumbing to narrow loss to Marumo Gallants.
Gabadinho Mhango’s lone goal was enough for Marumo Gallants to secure maximum points, extending their winless run to nine matches
Cape Town City are not well placed on the league standings after 23 matches into the campaign. They are currently 13th on the league log, accumulating just 23 points.
However, Cape Town City have announced the mutual termination of Ertugral’s contract. Appointed initially as a technical director before stepping in as interim coach, he managed just three wins in 14 games, with eight losses and three draws.
“After technical discussions, the club and Muhsin Ertugral have agreed mutually to part ways,” read the club’s statement. “The decision comes in the best interest of the club as we look to end the 2024/25 season as strongly as possible.”
The club is expected to appoint a new coach for the remainder of the South African top-flight campaign.
