Strasbourg is looking to strengthen its midfield with the signing of highly-rated Malian talent Mahamadou Doumbia.
The French side has reportedly joined the race for the Royal Antwerp player, who is valued at around €9 million. At just 21 years old, Doumbia has become one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe following a strong campaign in Belgium.
He featured in 48 matches for Antwerp this past season, scoring six goals and assisting twice, numbers that have not gone unnoticed. Interest from top leagues is growing, with clubs in Spain, Italy, and Germany monitoring his progress. French outlet L’Equipe names Sevilla as one of the top contenders.
Doumbia signed a four-year deal with Royal Antwerp on 6 September 2023 after impressing scouts with his skill and work rate. He made his senior debut on 28 January 2024, coming on as a half-time substitute for Owen Wijndal in a narrow 1–0 defeat to K.A.S. Eupen.
As Antwerp looks to boost its finances through player sales, Strasbourg could seize the moment to land one of Africa’s brightest prospects.
