Steve Mounie transfer rumour: Augsburg forward linked with Le Mans move

Benin and France-qualified forward Steve Mounie is being linked with a move from Augsburg to Le Mans FC in Ligue 1.

Mounie, 31, returned to the German club in June after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Turkish side Alanyaspor. The centre-forward is now the subject of reported interest from Le Mans, although the move has not been confirmed.

He made 21 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig and four in the Turkish Cup last season, scoring seven goals in the latter competition to finish as its leading scorer. Mounie joined Alanyaspor from Augsburg in September 2025 on a loan deal that included a €100,000 fee.

The striker initially moved to Augsburg from Stade Brestois on a free transfer in July 2024. He has also played in England for Huddersfield, making 59 Premier League appearances and scoring nine goals, while his Ligue 1 record stands at 44 goals in 162 appearances.

Mounie’s career has included spells in France, England, Germany and Turkey, and he remains under contract with Augsburg until 30 June 2027. His current market value is listed at €1.5m.
