AC Milan Show Interest in Marseille Goalkeeper Steve Mandanda
AC Milan have expressed interest in signing Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, despite the French international missing the 2014 World Cup through injury.
According to Le Parisien, the Serie A side have contacted Marseille president Vincent Labrune to enquire about Mandanda’s availability, although no official offer has yet been made.
Mandanda, 29, has also been linked with moves to Monaco, QPR, Napoli, and Southampton during the summer transfer window. The interest comes despite his recent injury setback, which ruled him out of France’s World Cup squad.
The Rossoneri, who have already signed Michael Agazzi from Verona, are believed to be seeking further reinforcements between the posts. Milan are also reportedly keeping tabs on Marseille winger André Ayew.
Mandanda is under contract at the Stade Vélodrome until 2016, and it remains to be seen whether the Ligue 1 club would consider parting with their captain should a significant bid be tabled.
