Stephan El Shaarawy Linked with Loan Move to Torino After Injury-Plagued Season
AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy could be set for a fresh start next season, with Serie A rivals Torino reportedly making a move for the out-of-favour attacker.
The 21-year-old, once one of Italy’s most promising young talents, has endured a difficult campaign blighted by injuries and inconsistent form. As a result, his future at the San Siro appears increasingly uncertain.
According to Tuttosport, Torino have emerged as serious contenders to secure El Shaarawy’s services on a loan deal that would include an option to make the move permanent. The Turin-based club are in the market for attacking reinforcements and view El Shaarawy as a valuable addition who could reignite his career away from the pressures of Milan.
The Italian-Egyptian forward rose to prominence during the 2012–13 season, scoring 16 goals in Serie A and quickly becoming a fan favourite. However, recurring injuries have limited his impact in subsequent campaigns. He has made just a handful of appearances this season and has struggled to recapture his early form.
Milan are reportedly open to allowing El Shaarawy to leave on loan in a bid to help him regain confidence and regular playing time. A move to Torino, who have enjoyed a solid season under Giampiero Ventura, could offer the ideal platform for a resurgence.
Torino are said to have initiated contact with Milan in recent days, signalling their intent to move swiftly ahead of the summer transfer window. While negotiations are still at an early stage, the proposal appears to suit all parties: Milan can ease their wage bill and potentially increase the player’s value, while El Shaarawy would benefit from a change of scenery and the chance to play more consistently.
Should the deal materialise, it would mark a significant shift in El Shaarawy’s career. Once hailed as the future of Italian football, the forward now faces the challenge of re-establishing himself in a competitive domestic league.
No official comment has yet been made by Milan or Torino, but further developments are expected in the coming weeks as the transfer window approaches.
