Stellenbosch winger Ibrahim Jabaar is hoping for a call up into the Nigeria national team after a standout performance this season.
The 22-year-old has been outstanding for the South African outfit this season, making 41 appearances and scoring one goal across the period.
Drawing inspiration from current Super Eagles players plying their trade in the South African Premier Division, Olisa Ndah and Stanley Nwabali, Ibrahim Jabaar has set sights on earning a call up into the Nigeria national team.
“Obviously, playing for your country is every player’s dream. So I think about it all the time. I believe it will depend on the coach. But if I get the call, of course I’ll go and do my job. I’ve always said, from the very beginning, that I want to play in Europe. I know it’s going to happen, and I’m determined to get there,” Jabaar said.
The 22-year-old winger has already featured for the Nigeria youth team and is now eyeing a spot in the senior team.
In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria is set to face South Africa, with the two teams meeting head-to-head in September. The match played on the “Super Eagles'” home turf last summer ended in a 1-1 draw.
