Stellenbosch FC sign Nigerian midfielder Lateef Adeyanju Kazeem before Kaizer Chiefs match
Stellenbosch FC have strengthened their attacking options by signing Nigerian midfielder Lateef Adeyanju Kazeem on a free transfer before Tuesday’s Betway Premiership meeting with Kaizer Chiefs.
The 26-year-old joins Gavin Hunt’s side after a recent spell with Nigerian club Plateau United. He has also previously played in Egypt, including for Ceramica Cleopatra.
Stellenbosch FC confirmed that all the formalities for the move were completed last month, with Kazeem becoming the club’s latest addition ahead of their fixture against Kaizer Chiefs.
“Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian midfielder Lateef Adeyanju Kazeem on a free transfer,” the club said on its official website.
“Having concluded all formalities last month, Stellenbosch FC has bolstered its ranks with the acquisition of Lateef Adeyanju Kazeem, who most recently plied his trade in the Nigerian PFL with Plateau United.
“He will become the fifth Nigerian player to represent Stellenbosch, following in the footsteps of Stanley Dimgba, Ibraheem Jabaar, Kazie Enyinnaya, and Olisa Ndah.”
Kazeem will wear the number 29 shirt and could make his Stellenbosch debut against Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday evening.
The signing gives Hunt another attacking option as Stellenbosch prepare for the Betway Premiership clash.
