Stellenbosch FC revealed on Monday evening that Kgaogelo Sekgota, the former Kaizer Chiefs player, is departing the club just six months after joining. The left winger’s departure comes amid concerns over his offensive performance during his brief tenure, marked by a lack of goals and a higher count of yellow cards.

In an official statement released on the club’s X platform, Stellenbosch FC confirmed the separation from Kgaogelo Sekgota, emphasizing his departure with immediate effect.

The decision appears to be a response to the 26-year-old’s offensive struggles, as he managed only one goal in 17 matches, while accumulating three yellow cards during his six months with the club.

“We would like to thank Kgaogelo for his services over the past six months and wish him well in his future endeavors,” the statement read, indicating a respectful acknowledgment of Sekgota’s time with the club.

The departure raises questions about the South African player’s prospects, given his underwhelming performance and the lack of interest from other clubs.

With only one goal and three assists in 150 matches throughout his career, Sekgota faces the challenge of finding a new opportunity, particularly with the South African winter transfer window already closed.

The decision to part ways with Sekgota highlights Stellenbosch FC’s commitment to maintaining a competitive squad.

As the club continues its campaign, the departure of the left winger prompts speculation about potential reinforcements to bolster the team’s attacking prowess.

Football enthusiasts will be keenly watching to see the developments surrounding Kgaogelo Sekgota’s next chapter in his football journey.
