Frédéric Bulot Determined to Bounce Back After Injury-Hit Season at Standard Liège
2 May 2025 — After a season plagued by injuries, Gabon international Frédéric Bulot is gradually finding his form again with Standard Liège, and remains optimistic about returning to his best.
The 23-year-old forward, who previously played for Monaco, endured a frustrating campaign interrupted by recurring physical issues. But with a return to fitness and increasing minutes on the pitch, Bulot believes he is on the right path.
“I had a good start to the season,” Bulot told La Dernière Heure. “Then the physical problems came quickly, and I was sidelined for two months.”
Despite his limited game time, Bulot made a notable impact when available, particularly in European competition. “Even with reduced playing time, I managed to score three goals in the Europa League and provide six assists. In terms of efficiency, it wasn’t bad. But in terms of rhythm, it was more difficult,” he admitted.
The Gabonese forward, who chose to represent the Panthers at the international level, is no stranger to setbacks, but says he remains focused on the future. “This has been one of the most complicated seasons of my young career,” he said. “But I’m not going to dwell on it. I know I have the quality to return to the top level. One day, I’ll be back to my best—there’s no doubt about that.”
Bulot’s determination is a welcome sign for Standard Liège, who have relied on his creativity and energy in attack. Now back in regular training and appearing in matchday squads, the player is slowly working toward full fitness and form.
As Standard Liège look to finish the season strongly, Bulot’s return to form could offer a timely boost. With a full pre-season ahead, the club and player alike will be hoping for a clean bill of health and a fresh start next term.
