Stade Rennais pushing to seal Ziyech signing

French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais FC are reportedly making a determined effort to sign Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech during the upcoming January transfer window.

Ziyech, currently with Turkish giants Galatasaray, has struggled for game time since his move from Chelsea in 2023.

Injuries and limited opportunities have hampered his stint in Turkey, with the 32-year-old managing just 10 appearances this season—only three of them starts—and recording a single assist.

Reports suggest Galatasaray are open to parting ways with Ziyech, who remains under contract until June 2025, to free up a non-EU player spot in their squad.

Rennes manager Jorge Sampaoli is reportedly eager to bring Ziyech to Ligue 1, viewing him as a key piece to strengthen the club’s attacking setup.

The move could be mutually beneficial, offering Ziyech a chance to revitalize his career and re-establish himself in the Moroccan national team.

The winger has missed recent national team call-ups, and with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations approaching, a fresh start in France might be what he needs to regain his form and secure his place on the international stage.
